Production Continues -- Not Much To Report!
Hello all! Long time no see~
I haven't made an update in awhile, primarily because there is not much new to report. Bag production is continuing as planned. If you haven't yet, please take a minute to skim our previous updates regarding production and timing. :)
I did see a couple of photos from the bag/wallet factory -- indeed, there is evidences that production IS actually happening. I am sorry again that this project is taking longer than we first anticipated. The good news is, no additional delays have been noted.

Updating Your Address --
No worries if you'll be moving around the time we plan to ship (Summer 2021). You can refer to our previous posts about how to update your shipping address; you can do this anytime! :)
Adding with Preorders -- we refund shipping costs for backers~
As mentioned in the previous update, we opened preorders again for folks. If you need to add more items to your order, please send us an email. Our protocol for backers at this point is that we 1. have you place an additional order with additional items, and then 2. issue a refund for shipping costs. This is a good little perk for backers, so please feel free to take advantage of it.

I think I will definitely finally close the round 2 preorders for this on April 20th. I kept these open longer because there hasn't been *too* many orders trickling in (it's manageable), and I want to make sure people don't miss out. :)

2021 Cloud Bag Preorders Opened
Good news -- if you have a friend/family member who was interested in the cloud bag, but missed the Kickstarter/preorders, the pre-order shop has been opened back up for the month of February.
I already preordered/am a Kickstarter backer; can I get more bags/pins? Do I have to pay more shipping?
Yes, you will be able to order additional items by placing a new preorder (however, we cannot alter or exchange items you picked out already or add to existing orders unfortunately). Please email us directly at hello at kittynaut dot com and we can help make sure you don't get overcharged for shipping.
Will this new wave of preorders delay manufacturing? NO. Reason: we had planned to open orders in 2021, and have arranged already for some additional bag production that should accommodate this preorder and not cause any additional delays.
Pins-Only Pledges have begun Shipping!
These are pretty few and far-between, but pins-only pledges/preorders have begun to be shipped (some are still going out). This might be why you are seeing people around instagram showing their Cloud pins off. Please don't let this make you anxious! -- if you have a bag/wallet/ita keychain, you will receive yours as well in time. :)
Bags Are not Shipping (yet)
Hello all!
As I've mentioned in the previous few updates, production has been delayed by a number of factors (despite my best efforts). I just wanted to make another announcement now because our original target shipping month was February.
I want to first apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause; I do realize that there are many people excited for their bags (and, I'm genuinely excited to get them to you, too)! I am very very sorry that delays have occurred.
So... you might ask:
-What is impacted?
All orders and pledges containing a bag, big or small, all ita keychains, and all wallets. Reason being they're from the same factory. Pins are not impacted, but if an order contains any impacted item, those impacted items are going to gate shipping.
-Why Aren't Bags Shipping yet?
A few reasons:
1. Manufacturer is having general delays related to covid-19 and an unexpected influx of orders; these delays are not exclusive to our project and seem to be delaying a number of other indie maker's projects (noted this challenge here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kittynaut/window-cloud-ita-bag-ita-keychains/posts/3045807)
2. The factory is on break for the entire month of February for a national holiday (this is normal because of the country they're based in).
3. Our manufacturer ran into some sub-supplier difficulties which triggered a lot of additional work, and we lost quite a bit of time here... but these issues are resolved now (noted this challenge here in about Dec: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kittynaut/window-cloud-ita-bag-ita-keychains/posts/3037436)
4. Shipping from the factory to ME would have normally taken at least a month, but shipping timelines have been a lot longer than usual with our spikes in covid-19. I am hoping this will not be as bad, but covid is badly delaying shippers and it's a bit unpredictable.
-When are Bags Shipping?
At this time, it looks more likely that shipping will be in June/July. I've talked with the factory exhaustively about options to speed up production, and this is realistically as fast as they can go. I will keep everyone updated of course if there are more delays (or, if we end up shipping earlier than this which is also still possible).
-What about Preorders?
Preorders will not impact the over-arcing shipping timeline.Further,
Here is the hierarchy of when shipments will be going out:
1. FIRST SHIPMENTS go to Kickstarter backers who pledged on Kickstarter. Because Kickstarter backers pledged to the project first, their items will ship first. (June/July target)
2. Next to ship will be preorders placed after the Kickstarter this past FALL (2020). These were placed in Backerkit only and did not have a pledge attached. (hopefully also June/July)
3. After Fall preorders ship, the newly opened (see above) preorders will ship. If you place your preorder in 2021, it will be in this third wave. (August at latest)
4. After all Kickstarters/preorders ship, remaining stock will be sold on Kittynaut.com.
What if I move before bags and stuff ship??

Enamel Pins Are Complete!
Hello all! Just wanted to give a status report that enamel pins are completed.
PINS-ONLY ORDERS, that is, ORDERS THAT DID NOT HAVE ANY BAGS/WALLETS/ITA KEYCHAINS will be shipping now. :) Shipping addresses will be locked down. If you need an update to your address and you ONLY GOT ENAMEL PINS, please email us! (hello at kittynaut dot com)
By the way, I think everyone should be very excited about these. They came out SO COOL. They're colorful and glossy and flat. We have an instagram reels video to show off their overall look.

Production -- Still In progress, delays likely
Hello all! I just wanted to write a brief update on this project. Production of the bags is still underway at this time. I don't have any new photos from the factory, but I will share when I receive more!
I was informed that there are likely going to be delays in delivery due to a number of factors at the factory (the primary one being that they're slammed with work). These delays did not surprise me, because a number of my colleagues/fellow artists have also mentioned seeing delays in their bag production. When I have a shipping date known, I will update with it. :)
